Hello Orrs Family,

My name is Maria Cody, and I am thrilled to serve as the Assistant Principal at Orrs Elementary!

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working at Orrs as both a teacher and an instructional coach, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to now support our school community in this leadership role.

I began my educational journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Alabama. A few years later, I followed my passion for teaching and earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University, followed by a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont University.

With 24 years of experience in education, I remain deeply committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and dynamic learning environment for our students and staff. My leadership approach is rooted in collaboration, open communication, and a strong belief in the potential of every child.

I am excited to work alongside our talented faculty, engaged families, and most importantly, our inspiring students. Together, we will continue to build a positive school culture where every learner feels valued, encouraged, and empowered to succeed.

I look forward to an amazing year ahead and to partnering with each of you in the continued success of Orrs Elementary.
