Administrative Dean of Discipline

Hello, Orrs Aviator Family!

My name is LaSondra Thrash, and I am proud to serve as the Dean of Discipline at Orrs Elementary School. As a Griffin native, I am especially excited to continue serving the community that helped shape me.

I am a proud product of the Griffin-Spalding County School System and graduated from Griffin High School in 1997. I began my teaching career in 2001 at Anne Street Elementary School. In 2006, I transitioned to Taylor Street Middle School and later joined Rehoboth Road Middle School in 2010. After 22 years in the classroom, I stepped into the role of Instructional Coach in 2023, where I had the opportunity to support teachers and students in a new capacity.

I hold a Tier I Leadership Certification and endorsements in Gifted Education and Teacher Leadership. My educational background and leadership preparation have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support instructional excellence, promote positive student behavior, and help foster a school culture centered on student success.

As an educational leader, I am committed to building strong relationships, supporting teachers, maintaining high expectations, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive. In my role as Dean of Discipline, I look forward to partnering with students, staff, and families to maintain a safe, positive, and welcoming learning environment where every Aviator can soar.

Outside of education, I am the proud pet parent of Salem Noir, a black cat with a major attitude and plenty of personality! I enjoy traveling, spending quality time with family and friends, and starting DIY projects—whether or not I always finish them!

I am excited and honored to be a part of the outstanding faculty and staff at Orrs Elementary School. I am proud to be an Orrs Aviator and look forward to an amazing year of providing First Class Service: Every Student, Every Stakeholder, Every Day!
